Last September, we were invited to take part in Parent University at T.H. Rogers School. Along with other panel members, we talked about the importance of identity construct and its impact on fostering empathy among children. We shared the Mariposa mission and, most importantly, we heard what members of our community had to share.
Parent University is an initiative created by HISD to support parents and families by providing an introduction to district and community programs that can positively impact the life of our Houston children. We are thankful for the invitation and are thrilled to know that the district is taking additional steps to create opportunities for families to learn more about how to help their child flourish.
