Our Methods
We are firm believers that a student’s background knowledge is a gift and plays a fundamental role when acquiring language as it helps them relate and own the new set of information they are about to learn. Tapping on students’ previous knowledge opens more channels of communication and comprehension. By designing a favorable learning environment, we produce positive results and a positive experience in the language acquisition process of our students.

We use a variety of instructional methods, including scaffolding, comprehensible input and other language acquisition learning tools. At Mariposa we too are long-life learners and relay on research-based practices to stay up to date with the latest educational findings. We work in small groups, semi-personalizing to identify common proficiencies and incrementally reach biliteracy.
